Can I avail of the CYCLE TO WORK SCHEME?

We are registered as a supplier through the CYCLE TO WORK Scheme. We can facilitate invoicing your employer directly so you can benefit from TAX RELIEF on up to €1500 of the purchase price. Please email sales@lectro.ie for details.

What is so special about this E-Cycle?

This electric bicycle  is a technological marvel; it runs on battery that is power driven by a  rear hub motor fitted on the rear wheel.

What are the different modes in which it can be ridden?

It runs on four modes – Pedal mode, Pedelec mode: Low, Medium & High Assist.

  • Pedal mode is like a normal bicycle without turning on the battery.
  • Pedelec mode is where the battery activates once we Pedal and reduces our Pedalling effort up to 80%. This can be set to Low-Med-High depending on Conditions and Terrain.

How much power does motor have and what speeds will it reach?

The motor has 250 Watts. - This is the maximum under EU Regulation. Speed with Motor Assist is restricted to 25 kph as per EU Regulation at which stage Motor Assist will cut out. Speeds in excess of 25kph can still be achieved by pedal power alone as with a standard bicycle.

Which battery does it have and & how long does it take to charge?

It has a Lithium ion battery of 36Volts. Ampere Hour varies depending on model from 7Ah to 11Ah. The battery takes 3.5 to 4 hours to charge with a company supplied charger.

What is the life of the battery?

500 charging cycles or warranty coverage is 1 year. Battery Cells are manufactured by Panasonic or an alternative world class manufacturer, e.g Samsung, LG

What is the range of a fully charged battery?

The range will be influenced by the terrain conditions and size of the battery. You can expect 30km to 60km on one charge.

What are the legal requirements for Road Use? Do I need a licence?

Pedelecs in Ireland are legal for road use in Ireland by any person over 16 years of age. There is no licence, tax or insurance requirement by law. We do recommend the use of a cycling helmet and hi-viz and lighting requirements as with a standard bicycle.

How much does it cost to fully charge the battery ?

A full charge costs approximately 5 cents (0.25 units).
